Cards for Monday, August 22, 2022

Well, there is a chance you won't get your materials by Monday night, but just in case...

Here are the cards I made from the material I sent you.  Both cards use Backyard Bliss B&T paper, and rosemary card stock.  I did send you white daisy cardstock stamped with C1822 Floral Borders (retired)(forgot I had the stamp set from the Backyard Bliss cardmaking kit, duh).  I also included 3 flowers fromZ6036 Woodgrain Flowers Die-cuts.  Someone, however, may have only gotten 2... found a stray flower on my desk.  Sorry!

Card #1 - In addition to supplies noted above, I used a flower image from Z8027 Backyard Bliss-scrapbooking, along with sentiment and thread from C1835 Sentiments & Stitches (also retired).  I split the piece of B&T paper... the rosemary piece is raised over the "empty" spot!  The circle was die-cut from linen CS.  The lovely little heart is from X7284E Crisp Air Dots mentioned by Kris last week.

Card #2 - Uses items I sent you, plus I used a semtiment from SOB stamp set.  I just tried to color the flowers in with colors I saw in the background paper.  Note: I split the B&T paper... it is not under the rosemary/white daisy piece to conserve paper. I added the woodgrain flower die-cuts and topped each with a bitty sparkles.

I did not realize when I was cutting/stamping the papers to send you that the B&T paper background is linen, not white.  I think linen would have looked better, but the white is okay. What do you think?

Happy stamping!!

Cards for Monday, 6/27/2022

Wow, has been a long time since I have posted!  Still not feeling very creative, but decided to send you SOMETHING, even if it's not my ideas.

This top card is from the G1254 Fresh Paint Cardmaking Workshop Kit.  A reminder, always read the directions first!  I prepared white daisy card stock to stamp with the cassette tape... duh... it is stamped on black CS and embossed with white powder.  Much more effective than it would have been stamped in black on white.  I am thinking I might also add some splatter in the top right hand corner (stamped, of course!).  Note: the cassette tape is raised so the little flamingo pieces slide under each side.

The bottom card is adapted from the CTMH creative insider card and uses Tutti Fruitti paper.  I used stamps from Z4444 Summer Greetings Stamp + Thin Cuts.  If you don't like what I stamped, you can turn it over and use whatever you have!  The ink colors used are grape, capri and flamingo.  The white piece is 2-1/4 x 2-1/4".

Happy stamping!!

Card challenge for Monday, May 9, 2022

 Hi all!

Here is the card this week... I only have 1 done so far...

The woodgrain paper and the flowers were in your packet... I used scraps to make an anchor for the flowers, which I colored with watercolor pencils.  My plan is to add a sentiment in the bottom right hand corner once I decide on the purpose of the card.  Probably will add a few sequins or pears at that time also!

Happy stamping!

Card Challenge for Monday, April 25, 2022

Here are the cards for Monday, April 25th...

The first card uses the stamps and die cuts from the Cake Day Cardmaking Workshop.  Sorry to say I don't think my stamping was very good... might still be fun to see how it is supposed to work!  The cake slice pulls out... the slice out is pictured below.  I added color to the cake, candles, and the cake slice with colored pencils.  I just picked a random yellow piece of cardstock to back the green B&T paper.

The second card  uses C1932 In Full Bloom - Cardmaking stamp set.  I colored it in with colored pencils, and used a card base I cut some time ago... not sure what color, but I liked it!  The words are from a discontinued stamp set... D1476 Card Chatter - Sympathy.

The dark spots appear to be something loose on my scanner... sorry!

Happy stamping!

Card challenge for Monday, March 14, 2022

Well, you may not get this on time, but it did go out in today's mail (3/11/22).  The other thing, is it won't be much of a challenge.  These cards are from the "In Full Bloom" card kit G1252, and I was so taken with them, that I stamped them as they are in the kit.  Anyway, hope you will like the cards as much as I do!

This first card is hopefully self-explanatory.  I colored with the Aqua Blue Blend and Yellow Green Blend of Tri-blend markers.  The sponging behind the butterfly is supposed to be avocado... mine looks dirty because my sponge was not clean. (Reminder to wash your sponges after you use them unless they are dedicated to a certain color!)

You have everything to make the second card EXCEPT I did not stamp the sides of your avocado cardstock.  Mine is stamped with a border stamp from D1635 Assorted Edges (retired).

I have given you one piece of B&T paper that you will have to cut.  For the top card, the left strip is 1/4" wide, and the strip to the right of the filmstrip is 1/2".  For the bottom card, the left and right strips are 1/2" each.  You will have a little left over.

Also, the kit has the acrylic black hearts... since this wasn't my kit, I used some adhesive glitter hearts left over from the fundamentals embellishment packs.  Sorry, but didn't have enough to send for both cards.  Black dots would work as well.  BTW, I really like the acrylic black hearts Z6014... they are thin and a really nice dark black.  I will be ordering some in my next order!

I just realized that on the second card the top butterfly is supposed to be colored in just like the butterfly in the top card (Aqua Blue blend and Yellow Green blend Tri-Blend markers).

I think that's all... happy stamping!

Card Challenge for Monday, February 28, 2022

The card challenge this week uses the stamp set from the SWEET AS HONEY Cardmaking Workshop.  This workshop has sold out twice now, and is expected again mid-March.

You received everything you need (minus the card base) to make the second card with the 2 bees on it. This is one of the cards from the card kit, minus a few fussy things.  Of course, you don't have to make this card!

The top card is made using the pieces I sent you (the base white piece with the bee house, the ticket, and the bee) some torn pieces of charcoal card stock, and some honeycomb paper I found in my stash (Lynda paper, I think!).

Can't wait to see what you do with the pieces you received!

Happy stamping!
