Challenge for November 9, 2020

Here is the card you have the parts to complete...

You have pieces to create this card that is showcased in the following YouTube video

Crafty Concepts with Erin – Day 30 of the 30 Days of Christmas Cards

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMt4ve46cA4

There are a couple of extra pieces for a second card and your actual challenge… to make a background sky, however you choose to do it!  The following YouTube video shows 2 ways to make a night sky for a card…  Be creative, and use what you have.

Jayma Malme – day 8 of the 30 Days of Christmas Cards

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqRHmFP4LrI

These gals have done some great videos… they are supposed to be putting them all together in one place… if I find it, I’ll forward it!  There are 7 gals, and each took a day of the week so there was a video each day for a month!  Very fun and interesting!

Challenge for Monday, October 23, 2020

The challenge this week is to make at least one card from the items you have been sent... here are the cards I made!

Sorry they are a bit askew... what my mind is like these days...

Supplies used:

B&T paper - Comfort & Joy
cardstock - black, white daisy
ink - Memento Tuxedo black
stamps - C1864 Comfort & Joy - Cardmaking

The first card uses a die set from My Favorite Things... Blueprints 18, which I don't think is available anymore.  I also used the dull green Triblend marker to outline the holly leaves, and used the Berry Christmas Dots to represent the holly berries.  Be creative!

The second card uses theStitched simple brackets thin cuts Z3687.  I outlined everything using a variety of Triblend markers.  If you have some holly leaves or pine sprigs you could further decorate the front.  This is a special fold card... and on the inside place the white cs to the left of the poinsietta paper so there is a place to write.

Of course, switch these up, or make something totally different from the pieces you have been given!

Happy stamping!

Challenge for Monday, October 12, 2020

 Hi all!

Lots of people are out of town, or going out of town, but here is the challenge anyway!  You really have until the end of the month to complete it!  The pieces went out in Wednesday's mail, so should arrive soon.

You will receive some stamped animals and greetings from D1970 Oh, Hay There.  There is also a mini envelope cut from Z3767.

You will receive everything but the base card to complete this card, or use some of the pieces to design your own!

Here is my card...

Full disclosure... I intended to frame the card with sangria cardstock, but at the last minute I realized I didn't have enough.  So... I have framed mine in olive cardstock, and that is what I sent you.  If you have sangria paper, you might consider it!

There is a little card inside the envelope that says "xo special delivery".

I also stamped for you an elephant and a bird... you didn't hear me say this, but if you want more envelopes just trace around them and cut on the inside line.  I was going to send more, but could not decide on paper, so there you go.

The hands for the monkey are stamped separately so you can cut them out and put them over the envelope.  With the elephant there is the end of his truck, and with the bird, it's beak.

Happy stamping!!

The challenge for Monday, October 5, is to make a card using the card sketch that I sent you in a recent email message.

Here is the card I made!

Full disclosure... these are all pieces that were hanging around my desk... the sloth I colored on a camping trip some time ago!  Feels good to use some stuff up!

Challenge for Monday, September 28...

The challenge for Monday, September 28 is in the mail!

Here is the card I made...

The background is the new thin cut "stitched lattice background/Z3681".

The banner is one of 2 thin cuts in the "stitched simple brackets/Z3687".

The stamp set + thin cuts is Z3537 "Perk Up".  It may still be available in the "online only" area, but I'm not sure.

The coffee cup is stamped in nutmeg (retired), and the words in paprika.  The background is cut from goldrush CS, and the leaves are Lynda dies, cut from goldrush, autumn terracotta, chocolate, and paprika I think!  I used a white daisy card for the base.

You will receive everything except the white daisy card base to make this card, plus a card base of some color to be determined, and an additional background cut from the stitched lattice background out of  buttercup.to play with.

Happy stamping!!

Weekly Challenge -- August 26, 2020

I can't believe August is almost over... where has the summer gone?!?!?  At least we are finally getting a little rain...

The challenge this week incorporates a technique... bargello.  I have sent my group a separate message with directions for bargello using b&t paper, and a youtube video with directions for bargello using inked cardstock.

Here is the card I made...

I inked white cardstock for you... just different colors across the CS, starting at the top with the lightest color.  You will cut that CS vertically into 1/2" strips.  Using adhesive (I used wet glue), lay the strips down onto the oval.  As you lay the pieces down, move them up or down to get the color motion.  Once all the strips are glued down and dry, turn it over and trim the excess strips from around the oval.

When you are making your own, you can just glue the strips onto a larger piece of CS, then cut a shape using one of your dies, cutting through the background and the strips at the same time.

Hope this makes sense!

I used Z3743 Fabulous Flamingo Stamp + Thin Cuts.  You will receive everything to make this card, except the flamingo dots.

Happy stamping!

Challenge #15

Hello!  Welcome to Challenge # _____________??? While I wrote 15 in the heading, I have no idea where we are.  If okay with you, guess I'll just refer to "the weekly challenge" from now on!

The colorful B&T paper is from Postcard Perfect (retired), and happened to match the colors I used on my animals.  If you decide to mat your tag, suggest you do the same, and find something colorful that matches, sort of, your animals!

Below is the card I made... below that, is what you will receive in the mail.  As I mentioned, I was late, and they got to the post office on Friday. In addition to what is in the photo, I also sent each of you a collection of speech bubbles if you want to use them with your animals.

Happy stamping!

Ink - Fern, Candy Apple, Intense Black
Stamps - D1290 August Word Puzzle (retired), Z3744 Summer Vibes Cardmaking, and Z3723, Palm Paradise

Challenge #12

Challenge #12 is to create a card (or 2!) from pieces I have sent you stamped/cut with Z3742 Summer Vibes--Cardmaking Stamp + Thin Cuts.  This card is based on Cardmaking Creative Insider designed by CTMH.

I have sent you what you need to recreate the card I made, shown below.  Of course, feel free to create whatever moves you with these pieces!

I covered the fish scales with clear shimmer brush, and added sequins from the Crafty sequin mix (retired).  The fish is stamped in smoothie, the words in fern, and the bubbles in glacier.

Challenge #11

Challenge #11 is on the way... in Wednesday afternoon mail!  The stamped pieces are Z3723 Palm Paradise Stamp + Thin Cuts from the May-June catalog.  The tag has "aloha friend" on one side, and "you're the best" on the other.  The pieces of B&T paper are from the Mix-In pack.  As I am looking at the card now, I think I'll tie some dark blue ribbon at the top of the tag...

Sorry I did not think to send more than one parrot!  This parrot appears to be a macaw, and you can look up different color schemes on the internet...

Happy stamping!

Challenge #10

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July!

Sorry I am slow getting this posted... had some difficulty making my own card!  I sent the pieces out before I made my card, and the idea I had did not totally work...

So, for Challenge #10, which is stamped die cuts from the Summer Vibes Cardmaking Workshop Kit, G1209, I made the following card... Patterned after one of the workshop cards, but different!  Hope you can come up with something better!

I did use the watercolor paints to color the snowcones and the "stay cool".  I also toyed with the idea of using the blue side of the b&t strip, but at list minute decided on the summer print.  Hum..... maybe a bigger piece of b&t paper would have been better... NEVER AGAIN will I send out the pieces before I finish my card!!

See what you can do...  Happy stamping!!!

Challenge #9

Challenge #9, if you choose to participate, is to make a card from pieces stamped from Z3719 Make a Splash Stamp + Thin Cuts.  Here are the cards I made...

In this first card I colored the boots before I thought about how I was going to use them... I had a time finding paper to match!  So... some paper from my scrap bin!

In the second card, I used a stencil of clouds, and a die I had of a sun.  The phrase is from the stamp set.  I tried the idea of coloring around the die, and colored the inside of the boquet as well.

Can't wait to see what you do with yours!

Happy stamping!

Challenge #8

Challenge #8, if you choose to accept it, is to construct at least one card from the pieces you will receive that are stamped from D1925 A Million Little Things.

Here is the card I made...

I did not design this card... I copied it from Chris Franco, CTMH Consultant, at www.stampedblessings.com.

I colored the flowers using the light yellow and citrus blend tri-blend markers, as well as the dull green tri-blend marker.  The dots are in toffee ink, and it is matted on a kraft card base.  I think the flowers are coneflowers (echinacia) which come in a variety of colors.

Happy stamping!!

Layout and Challenge #7

The challenge for this week is to make a card from the items you are receiving in the mail... these are stamped pieces from the Stitched Together cardmaking workshop.  You also have a strip of the Stitched Together paper, and a piece of cardstack that coordinates with it.  Here is the card I made...

I used a white gel pen and a ruler to draw in the stitched background... I colored the thread spool with the Coral Blend  and Ice Blend tricolor markers.  Also colored the spool with the clear glitter brush.  I embellished with white dots from the black and white dots pack.

I thought the thread stuck out to far for what I wanted, so I cut it and placed it more under the spool... where the paper crunched is hidden by the needle.  (It is all taped on the back side to hold it together!).

Here is the June layout...

Supplies:
B&T paper - Stitched Together
Cardstock - Sapphire, Mint, Peach, Sweet Leaf, White Daisy
Pattern is the Scrapbooking Creative Insider provided by CTMH

In your packet you will also have "dream" cut from sapphire, and some of the pieces from the Stitched Together Cardmaking workshop stamp set.  This layout is pretty busy, so embellish lightly according to how you intend to use it!

Happy stamping!!

Challenge #5, May 27, 2020

Challenge #5, if you choose to accept, is to create a card from items I mailed to you today.  You will receive pieces to make the card I made below, with a few extra pieces.  You can recreate my card, or come up with something new and different!!  It is okay to use other items as long as you use at least one of the items I sent you!

Supplies:
B&T paper - Aurora
Cardstock - Sapphire, Sage, White daisy
Stamps - Aurora Cardmaking - Thin cuts
Ink - Sapphire

In my version, both the trailer image and the sentiment are raised.

You also will receive another sentiment (in black) and another image (in charcoal gray) in case you want to make another card with different colors.

The extra piece of cardstock/B&T paper is just cause I needed something more to stabilize the package!

Not my most creative effort, but they can't all use the quilt embossing folder!

Happy stamping!

Challenge #4 and New Scrapbook Layout...

Challenge #4... to create at least one card using the embossed cardstock sheets you received using the new quilt embossing folder! Here are the cards I made with mine...

Here is the new scrapbook layout... if you are interested and want me to cut it for you, let me know!

Supplies:
B&T paper - Aurora Paper
Cardstock - Peacock, Sapphire, White Daisy, Sage
Stamps - D1922 Aurora -- Scrapbooking Stamp Set + Thin Cuts
Ink - Charcoal, Peacock, Sage
Other - I embellished with sequins from the Loose Sequins - Silver

Spoiler alert!  I did not design this layout... this is the Creative Insider layout provided by CTMH for the Aurora paper packet.  I did add the journaling card on the second page.

NOTE!  The stamping on the left side is dependent on the photo layout... if you plan to use a different photo layout, let me know and I can stamp a line of trees of a piece of  white cardstock that you can trim around and place wherever.

Happy Stamping!!

Challenge for May 18, 2020

Hello!

Challenge #3, if you choose to accept, is to make at least 1 card from the images I am sending you. You may share it here, by email, on facebook, or during our Monday night Zoom session.

At the top is the card I made... it is from the National Scrapbooking Day Cardmaking Kit, CC7211 Through Thick & Thin... the red paper is shiny with a pattern... like we used to have in the old Fundamentals?  I also framed the white piece with honey rather than saffron... my choice!  In my card the extra bottle of hand sanitizer is fussy cut out and raised above the middle bottle for dimension.

The items below it are what you will receive in your card. I went ahead and stamped the liquid in your bottles... it is second-generation lagoon.

Have fun!!  Happy stamping!!
